    21 new Ministers inducted as PM expanded his council of ministers

    On 9th November 2014, PM Narendra Modi expanded his council of ministers as he inducted more 21 faces. With this now total strength of Modi's cabinet has reached 66.

    Karan Singh's son Ajatshatru joined BJP

    Among the political current affairs, On 9th November 2014, Ajatshatru Singh who is grandson of late Maharaja Hari Singh and Son of Senior Congress leader Karan Singh has joined BJP. It is expected that it will boost the strength of BJP in the J&K as Assembly polls are coming in the state.

    Apart from him BJP has also taken back its expelled senior leader Chaman Lal Gupta. 

    Ajatshatru Singh was earlier a member of National Conference.

    India agreed to stay on as advisory board member of UNCCT

    India has taken decision to remain a member of the advisory board of a UN centre on counter-terrorism for an additional three years.

    In the 9th meeting of the board, Indian representative to UN Asoke Mukerji said that, "We would like to express our consent to the offer of the Secretary-General to India to continue as a member of the Advisory Board of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Center (UNCCT) for an additional three years starting from April 2, 2015".

    Mukerji also supported the idea of building UNCCT into a center of excellence.

    Do you Know : 

    UNCCT was established in 2011 within the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (CTITF) to assist in meeting capacity-building needs of member states, and to strengthen United Nation's counter-terrorism expertise.
