    RBI Assistant Exam - Syllabus, Eligibility and Exam Pattern

    The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) invites the applications for the post of “Assistant” in various offices of RBI across the nation. Candidates can apply only through online mode and RBI assistant written exam takes place online as well. Complete details about RBI assistant exam given below.

    RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria

    Educational Qualification:

    •Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.

    •Knowledge of computers.

    •Proficiency in the official language of the concerned state & union territory.

    Age Limit:

    Age should be between 20-28 years. There is upper age relaxation to reserved categories. For detailed information check on site.

    RBI Assistant Exam Pattern

    Selection process is in three steps – Preliminary Exam, Mains and Interview.

    Preliminary Exam:

    Exam Duration: 1hr

    Preliminary exam is an online objective type on three sections – Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability and English Language. There is negative marking of 1/4th marks for each wrong answer. Question paper will be set in both Hindi and English.

    Mains:

    Exam Duration: 2hr

    Main exam is an online objective type on three sections – Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness, English Language and Computer knowledge. There is negative marking of 1/4th marks for each wrong answer. Question paper will be set in both Hindi and English. There will be 200 questions for 200 marks. There is negative marking of 1/4th marks for each wrong answer.

    Interview: Those candidates who qualify in main examination will be called for interview round. The total marks allotted for interview are 35 marks.

    Reasoning Ability

    Following are the topics where questions are asked in the given order.

    • Linear Arrangement- 5

    • Puzzle- 5

    • Inequality- 5

    • Syllogism- 5

    • Data sufficiency- 5

    • Series-5

    • Miscellaneous- 10

    Computer Knowledge:

    You should have thorough knowledge on Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Networking, Basic Hardware and Software.

    General Awareness:

    The section includes questions from both Current Affairs and Banking Awareness and some of the static ones.
