    RBI JE Exam - Syllabus, Eligibility and Exam Pattern

    To clear RBI Junior Engineer Exam aspired candidates have to go for an online examination of 200 marks. The exam is of objective type with four different options. RBI JE Exam is conducted once in an year.

    The paper pattern of RBI JE will help the candidates get a general outline of the examination and helps them with their preparation. The RBI Junior Exam Pattern will help the candidates know the number of questions in the exam, number of questions per topic, marking scheme etc. for the exam. There will be 3 sections. With the help of paper pattern, candidates will be able to decide an effective approach to study for the exam.

    Eligibility

    Both Diploma and Degree holder candidates of specified fields are eligible, but experience requirement is different for diploma and degree. Please be noted, you should know how to read, write and speak the official language of the state where you applied for. Questions will be asked in that language at the time of final interview.

    Junior Civil Engineer

    Minimum 3 years of diploma in civil Engineering from a recognized institute with minimum 65% marks ( 55% for SC/ST/PWD) or degree in civil Engineering from a recognized institute with minimum 55% marks ( 45% for SC/ST/PWD).

    Experience Required:

    Junior Engineer (Civil) : Minimum 2 years of experience for diploma holders or 1 year of experience for degree holder in execution and supervision of construction work or civil maintenance of office buildings/commercial buildings/ residential complexes with basic knowledge of RCC design and other civil work, experience in preparation of tenders for civil works etc.

    Junior Electrical Engineer

    Minimum 3 years of diploma in Electrical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized institute with minimum 65% marks ( 55% for SC/ST/PWD) or degree in Electrical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized institute with minimum 55% marks ( 45% for SC/ST/PWD).

    Experience Required:

    Junior Engineer (Civil) : Minimum 2 years of experience for diploma holders or 1 year of experience for degree holder in execution and supervision of electrical installation in large buildings having HT/LT substations, central ac plants, lifts, UPS, DG sets, Fire alarm sets, CCTV etc.

    Age Limit

    Between 20 to 30 years.

    Paper Pattern of RBI Junior Engineer Exam

     RBI Junior Engineer (Civil/ Electrical) Exam Pattern:-

    Selection will be through Online Examination and Interview. The Online Examination will be for 200 marks.

    A candidate has to qualify in each part of the Objective test separately. There will be penalty of negative marks for wrong answers. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

    • Calculation of area/volume of various geometrical shapes, mode of measurements as per IS:1200.

    • Surveying and contouring.

    • Preliminary design principles of steel members and knowledge of IS:800

    • Estimation and quantity surveying, Analysis of rates with knowledge of current market availability of materials, makes and rates and also interpreting building drawings.

    • Construction technology.

    • Various types of motors, various starting methods of various types of motors.

    • Substation design and layout including DG set installations.

    • Basic knowledge of air conditioning & refrigeration.

    • Inverters, rectifiers, UPS systems.

    • Energy conservation techniques.

    • Testing of electrical installation.

    • Basics of elevators design, electrical safeties protections, controllers, etc.

    • Basics of CCTV system, Fire and Smoke Alarm system, UPS.

    •  Knowledge of Indian Electricity Rules.

    • Switch gears & protection used in HT/LT installations.

    • Transformers, working principles, protection types, preventive maintenance.

    • LT distribution system. Cabling/internal wring system, panel design and fault finding, preventive maintenance, etc.

    • Type of earthing, testing, lightening arrestor, etc.
