Shaurya Chakra for Pathankot NSG Martyr and Ashok Chakra for Hangpan Dada

Shaurya Chakra was conferred to Lt. Col. E.K. Niranjan of the National Security Guard posthumously, as he gave supreme sacrifice while defusing a grenade at the scene of the terror attack at Pathankot.
Important to mention here that Shaurya Chakra is peacetime gallantry medal.
Also Ashok Chakra was conferred to Havildar Hangpan Dada posthumously on the eve of Independence Day. He was serving with Assam Regiment/35th Battalion of the Rashtriya Rifles.
Important to mention here that Ashok Chakra is highest peacetime gallantry medal.

Which Government startred Rhino Horn Verification Process - Assam Government

Among Important Current Affairs, Rhino horn verification process has been launched by Assam Govt with an aim to verify rhino horns stored in various treasuries of Assam since 1980. Committe will conduct this process and this committe is headed by former forest officer Mohan Chandra Malakar.

Where 1st BIO-CNG Project inaugurated in India - Pune

First BIO-CNG project of India was inaugurated in Pune by Transport Min Nitin Gadkari & Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. This project will be using agricultural residue to generate CNG hence decreasing pollution in CNG generation.

Which country won 1,000th Olympic Gold Medal - USA

Among Important Sports Current Affairs, USA has won its 1000th Olympic gold medal. It was won by American women’s team in 4*100 meter medley relay. Kathleen Baker, Lilly King, Dana Vollmer & Simone Manuel were team members to get it.
Important to mention here that When USA started in RIO Olympics it already had 977 gold medals.

Which budget has been merged with the General Budget - Rail Budget

Among Important Financial Current Affairs, Seperate Rail budget has been merged with General Budget as from next fiscal you will not able to watch speech of Railway minister of Seperate Rail budget. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has sent a proposal for same which was accepted by Finance Ministry.
A committee of five members will work out on its merger and will submit its report by 31st August 2016.
