    Incredible India Campaign Wins - Pata Gold Award 2019

    Union Tourism Ministry’s Incredible India ‘Find the Incredible You’ campaign has secured Pacific
    Asia Travel Association-PATA Gold Award 2019. It secured the award in ‘Marketing Primary
    Government Destination’ category. The 2019 edition of award fascinated 198 entries from 78
    organisations and individuals globally.

    • It was published internationally during 2018-19 with the tagline “Find the Incredible You”.
    • This new edition lime-lights shift from generic promotions undertaken worldwide to market specific
      promotional plans and content creation. It emphases on digital and social media and promotion of Niche Tourism products of India.
    • As part of Campaign, five new television ads were produced by Ministry, which were aired globally
      in TV, digital and social media. These were:
      1. Yoga: The Yogi of the Racetrack
      2. Wellness: The Reincarnation of Mr. and Mrs. Jones
      3. Luxury: The Maharani of Manhattan
      4. Cuisine: The Masala MasterChef
      5. Wildlife: The Sanctuary in Paris
    • The series of movies have received above 153 million views on social media. They were earlier
      awarded 1st Prize in category of Television Cinema Spot at International Golden City Gate
    • Tourism Awards at Berlin, Germany in March 2019.
    • These are yearly awards which are bestowed to tourism industry organizations and individuals
      making outstanding contribution towards effective promotion of travel industry throughout Asia
      Pacific Region.

    Zimbabwe Cricket adjourned from ICC with immediate effect on - 18th July 2019

    Zimbabwe cricket has been adjourned by the International Cricket Council with immediate effect.
    With this, Zimbabwe will be out of all International Cricket Council tournaments consisting the
    forthcoming T20I World Cup. The decision was taken by the International Cricket Council board
    during the International Cricket Council Annual Conference in London on July 18th, 2019.

    Important Highlights

    • Zimbabwe Cricket, which is a full member of International Cricket Council, was adjourned following
      it broken the International Cricket Council Constitution by failing to provide free and democratic
      elections and making sure that there is no government interference in its cricket administration.
    • International Cricket Council Chairman Shashank Manohar on the suspension informed that the
      International Cricket Council cannot permit such serious breach to continue unchecked and it desires cricket to continue in Zimbabwe by following the International Cricket Council Constitution.
    • After International Cricket Council suspension, Zimbabwe cricket will lose out on International
      Cricket Council funding and its national cricket team will be restricted from all International Cricket
      Council programmes including the upcoming T20I World Cup.
    • The men’s T20I World Cup qualifier will be organised in October 2019. The Zimbabwe national cricket team had abortive to qualify for World Cup 2019 for the very 1st time.
    • The International Cricket Council has also decided to announce concussion replacements after
      successful trials in domestic cricket from August 1st, 2019.
    • The concussion replacement player will essential to be a like-for-like substitute and the replacement will be necessity to be permitted by the Match Referee.
    • The alteration will be introduced from August. Hence, it will come into effect around the time when the 1st Ashes test will instigate at Edgbaston.
    • The ICC has also changed the punishment for maintaining a slow over-rate
    • . The captains will no longer face postponement for breaches, instead, the players will face point deductions in the International Cricket Council Test Championship.

    Sachin Tendulkar sixth Indian to be inducted in ICC Hall of Fame on - 18th July 2019

    Sachin Tendulkar has become 6th Indian cricketer to be comprised in the ICC Hall of Fame. The International Cricket Council selected India’s Sachin Tendulkar, South Africa’s Allan Donald and Australia’s Cathryn Fitzpatrick for the hall of fame honour at a ceremony in London on July 18th,
    2019.
    The other Indians in the International Cricket Council Hall of Fame include Bishan Singh Bedi
    (2009), Sunil Gavaskar (2009), Kapil Dev (2009), Anil Kumble (2015) and Rahul Dravid (2018).
    ICC Hall of Fame Guidelines
    International Cricket Council Cricket Hall of Fame goals to identify the achievements of legendary
    cricketers. According to International Cricket Council rules, a player has to be internationally
    retired for minimum 5 years to be welcomed in Hall of Fame.
    1. Sachin Tendulkar
    Sachin Tendulkar is the most prolific batsman in the history of international cricket. Sachin
    Tendulkar played his last test match in November 2013. Sachin Tendulkar presently holds the
    record of highest run scorer in the history of Test and One-Day International cricket with 15921 runs
    and 18426 runs respectively. Tendulkar is the only cricketer to have scored 100 international
    centuries, 51 in Tests and 49 in One-Day Internationals. He is also the first batsman to score a
    double century in One-Day International. Overall, Sachin Tendulkar has played 664 international
    matches and scored 34357 scores.
    2. Allan Donald

    South Africa’s Allan Donald is one of the all-time greatest fast bowlers with 602 international
    wickets, which includes 272 One-Day International wickets and 330 Test wickets. Allan Donald is the
    first South African to take 200 One-Day International wickets and 300 Test wickets. He is one of the
    most feared fast bowlers of his time.
    3. Cathryn Fitzpatrick
    Australia’s 2-time World Cup-winning cricketer Cathryn Fitzpatrick was positioned as the world’s
    top One-Day International bowler for 2113 days. She is known as the fastest bowler of her
    generation and one of the most effective coaches in this decade. Fitzpatrick is also the 2nd-highest
    One-Day International wicket-taker in women’s cricket. She grabs the top spot with 109 women’s
    One-Day Internationals wickets until India’s Jhulan Goswami broke the record in May 2017.
