    Which building made in Guinness World Record as largest vertical maze - Maze Tower of Dubai

    On 21st January 2015, Maze Tower of Dubai was listed in the Guinness World Record for being the world's largest vertical maze. This tower is built by  Al Rostamani Group of Dubai and this building has an front and rear front elevation of balconies that make up an intricate maze and features natural Brazilian Verde Bahia stone to create a striking facade throughout the exterior. Tower also have a garden floor in the middle and a roof top maze garden.

    Sukanya Samridhi Yojana was launched by PM under which campaign - BBBP campaign

    On 22nd January 2015, PM Narendra Modi launched Sukanya Samridhi Yojana which is a small deposit scheme for girl child under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign. 

    Few important features of this scheme are : 

    • It was get interest rate of 9.1 percent and will also provide income tax rebate.
    • This account can be opening any time from the birth to age of 10 years of girl child with a deposit of 1000 rupees.
    • Maximum amount which can be deposited during the financial year is 1.5 Lakh rupees. 

    Who was appointed as Interim Chairman of DDCA - R V Easwar

    On 22nd January 2015, Former High Court judge Justice R V Easwar was appointed as Interim Chairman of the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) by Delhi High Court following the plea of DDCA treasurer Ravinder Manchanda who challenged the 16 January 2015 order of trial court that directed the cricket body to not to convene any meetings till Bansal's plea is heard. 

    Suspended President of DDCA Sneh Bansal and General Secretary of DDCA Anil Khanna were also allowed by court to attend the meetings as members of the Executive Committee till the hearing of Bansal's plea challenging his removal before a trial court. 

    Saudi Arabia King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz passed away

    On 23rd January 2015, Saudi Arabia King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz passed away at the age of 90. 

    After his death his brother and Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was named as the new king of Saudi Arabia and Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was named as new crown prince.

    Which Indian state got its first International Institute of Music - Kerala

    On 22nd January 2015, Culture Minister of Kerala K C Joseph announced setting up of the International Institute of Music in Kerala which will be first international institute in India dedicated to music. A trust has been constituted which is headed by Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan to set up the Institute. Land will be provided by Govt and all other infrastructure facilities will be built by a trust managed by Khan's family.

    Who won DSC Prize 2015 for Literature - Indian American author Jhumpa Lahiri

    On 22nd January 2015, Indian American author Jhumpa Lahiri won prestigious DSC Prize for Literature for her book "The Lowland". DSC Prize is considered among South Asia's top literary awards. By getting this prize she also won $50,000 as prize money.

    Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Vijay Shesadri awarded this prize to Jhumpa Lahiri.
