    Who has been inducted as first woman pilot in Indian Navy - Shubhangi Swaroop

    Among Important Current Affairs, On 23rd November 2017, Shubhangi Swaroop was inducted as first woman pilot in Indian Navy. She is a native of Uttar Pradesh.
    Important to mention here that Shubhangi Swaroop was among four women officers who had passed out of the Ezhimala Naval Academy in Kerala. Following are the names of other three women officers :

    • Aastha Segal,
    • Roopa A and
    • Sakthimaya S.

    For which state Government approved Rs 1 Lakh crore worth projects - Tamil Nadu

    Among Financial Current Affairs, Union Government has approved Highway and Shipping Projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore for Tamil Nadu state. Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari shared this information during joint press conference where Cheif Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K Palaniswami was also present.

    These projects will be executed to find permanent solution to the irrigation and drinking water requirements along with Highways, Shipping and Port.

    Union Government promulgates Indian Forest (Amendment) Ordinance, 2017

     On 23rd November 2017, Union Government promulgated the Indian Forest (Amendment) Ordinance, 2017 to encourage bamboo cultivation in non-forest areas.

    Important to mention here that rule will be still there for bamboo grown in the forest areas. This step is expected to help many industries viz. cottage industries, furniture makers, fabric making units, incense stick making units etc.

    Which App was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi - UMANG App

    On 23rd November 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched UMANG App during the fifth edition of Global Conference on Cyberspace. This app is designed to bring 162 government services on a single mobile app.

    This App supports 13 Indian languages. This App has been developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD).
