    SC orders audit of Padmanabha temple by former CAG Vinod Rai

    On 24th April 2014, The Supreme Court of India order audit of Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple accounts and properties. This responsibilty was given to o former the Comptroller and Auditor General ( CAG) Vinod Rai. Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple is very famous temple situated in Kerela. 

    The bench of the Supreme Court comprised of Justice RM Lodha and Justice AK Patnaik has ordered to constitute a new administrative five-member committee headed by the District Judge of Thiruvananthapuram.

    Indian-South Africa "academic bridge" launched

    On 25th April 2014, New academic programme under which unemployed South African youths can benefit from internships in India was launched by Indian High Commissioner Virendra Gupta. It has established a new "academic bridge" between the two countries. It has been launched under a partnership between Siva Sivani Institute of Management of Hyderabad and Ubuntu Institute of South Africa.

    Head of Google plus Vic Gundotra Resigns

    On 24th April 2014, Vic Gundotra resigned from the Internet Company Google. Vic Gundotra was serving as the head of Google plus and he was with Google since 2007. Google Plus is a social network site that was launched in 2011. 

    Gundotra is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Gundotra earlier worked with Microsoft, handling the developers relations for the company.

    Portable Electronic Device including cellphones allowed during Flights by DGCA

    On 23rh April 2014, The Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA) allowed the use of Portable Electronic Devices. DGCA amended CAR Section 5 Series X Part I relating to air safety.

    Portable electronic devices can now be used freely on flight mode, allowing passengers to play games, watch movies or even catch up with work on their smart phones in all phases of a flight.  

    Saurav Ghosal - Indian Squash Player won Dato Alex Lee Award 2013

    On 24th April 2014, Indian Squash Player Saurav Ghosal won Dato Alex Lee Award 2013. Saurav Ghosal was selected for the award by the Asian Squash Federation (ASF) for being the Outstanding Asian Men's Player of the Year 2013.
