    1971 war hero Lt. Gen. (retd) JFR Jacob was honored by - Israel

    Israel honours 1971 war- Bangladesh’s Liberation War, hero Lt. Gen. (Retd) Jack Farj Rafael (JFR) Jacob with a plaque on Wall of Honour at the Ammunition Hill, Israel.
    JFR Jacob

    • He was one of the most protruding members of India’s relatively small Jewish community, who worked as a Lieutenant General in Indian Armyand as the chief of staff of Indian Army’s Eastern Command.
    • He also fought in World War-IIand the Indo-Pakistani War, 1965.
    • He converted the historic surrender of Pakistani troops in Dhaka following the 1971 war.
    • He later became Governor of 2 Indian states Goaand Punjaband died in 2016 at the age of 92.
      The Wall of Honour
    • It pays tributes to heroismand bravery of Jewish soldiers who fought in defence of the nations they lived in.
    • It also honours their personified virtues including values of bravery, loyalty, obligationand dedication to a mission, leadership, inspiration, camaraderieand sanctity of life.
    • The Wall has plaques honouring above 340 people namely privates, high ranking army officers, females, front line fightersand humble members of supporting units who executed these virtues.
    • It has 1 more plaque honouring Lt. Gen. Joseph ‘Jerry’ Jhirad, who was an Indian Jewish soldier, who died in 1965 war against Pakistan.
      Ammunition Hill
      It was an encouraged Jordanian military post in Northern part of Jordanian ruled East Jerusalem. It is the site of one of ferocious battles during 6 Days War (Arab–Israeli War 1967) in Israel, lost 21 soldiers but developed victorious.

    BHEL and ARAI signs MoU for  - e-mobility projects

    Bharat Heavy Electricals Limitedand Automotive Research Association of India inked Memorandum of understanding for assistance on projects related to e-mobility.
    Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited was recognized in 1964 an engineeringand manufacturing firm. It is owned and founded by Government of India with HQs in New Delhi. It is India’s largest power generation equipment manufacturer.
    ARAI was recognized in 1966 and it is India’s leading automotive Researchand Development group formed by the Automotive Industry with the Government of India.
    It is an independent body affiliated to Ministry of Heavy Industriesand Public Enterprises which is a major Testingand Certification Agency advised by Government of India under Rule 126 of Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.

    Benjamin Netanyahu sworn-in as Israeli PM on - 30th April 2019

    Benjamin Netanyahu took oath in as Israeli PM on April 30th, 2019 after his victory in the April 9th, 2019 elections. Netanyahu was among the 120 newly elected members who took oath-in Israel’s 21st
    parliament.
    Netanyahu will now pursue to form a governing coalition in the days ahead. President Reuven Rivlin guided Netanyahu to form a government on April 17th. He has 28 days to do so, with a possible extension of a further 2 weeks.

    • He had formerly held the post of Prime Minister from 1996-1999 when he had become Israel's youngest-ever PM.

    Apurvi Chandela becomes world number 1 in 10m air rifle on - 1st May 2019

    India’s Apurvi Chandela on May 1st, 2019 became World No 1 in women’s 10 metres air rifle programme, as per to the latest rankings published by the International Shooting Sport Federation.
    Hailing from Jaipur, the shooting ace is among the 5 Indian shooters to have already won 2020 Olympics quotas for the nation. The shooter shared her joy on twitter on achieving the feat- ‘World No 1 touched a milestone in my shooting career.”
    Apurvi Chandela’s Significant Achievements

    • In 2012, Chandela secured the Gold medal in the 10m air rifle game at the National shooting
      championships in New Delhi.
    • In 2014, she secured 4 medals at the Intershot Championships at The Hague, that included 2 individual and 2 team medals.
    • In the same year, she secured a Gold medal in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, having 206.7 points in final, creating a new games record.
    • Though Chandela competent for the 2016 Rio Olympics in the women's 10 metres air rifle game, where she ended at 34th position in the qualification round out of 51 competitors.
    • At the 2018 Asian Games, she paired with Ravi Kumar for the 10m Air Rifle mixed team game, and secured a Bronze medal. She also secured a bronze medal in the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
    • In February 2019, Chandela shot a World record score of 252.9 to won Gold medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup in New Delhi.
    • While the 26 years old Chandela has already booked a Tokyo Olympics berth, she scarcely missed out on a medal, finishing 4th with a sum score of 207.8, at the freshly completed International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup, Beijing.
