    Where First BRICS Film Festival begun - New Delhi

    Among Important Events, On 2nd September 2016, First BRICS Film Festival started in New Delhi at Sirifort Auditorium Complex.
    Mr. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore ( Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting ) inaugurated this festival.
    This will go on for five days till 6th September and will provide a platform to film industry people to explore each other cultures and to enhance cooperation.
    Important to mention here that Opening film in festival was Veeram ( A Malayalam movie ) and this festival will close with Skiptrace ( A Chinese Movie ).

    Islam Karimov passed away, He was president of - Uzbekistan

    Islam Karimov On 2nd September 2016, President of Uzbekistan passed away, he was 78 years old.
    He became President of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic on 24th March 1990 and later on 31st August 1991 he declared Uzbekistan an independent nation and then won first presidential election on 29 December 1991.
    In 1995, his mandate was extended for another five years. He won re-election in 2000, 2007 and 2015.

    Who sworned in as acting Governor of Tamil Nadu - Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao

    On 2nd September 2016, Governor of Maharashtra Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao sworned in as acting Governor of Tamil Nadu as tenure of K. Rosaiah ended on 31st August 2016.
    Madras High Court's Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul administered the oath of office at Raj Bhawan in Chennai.
    Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao has also served as Union Minister of State for internal affairs in BJP Government in 1999.
    He was member of 12th and 13th Lok Sabha from Karimnagar in Telangana.
