    21st Asian Athletics Championships was won by - Inderjeet

    Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 3rd June 2015, Inderjeet Singh won gold medal in men's shot put event in the 21st Asian Athletics Championships which is being held from 3rd June to 7th June at Wuhan, China.

    Inderjeet tugged the iron ball to a new championship record of 20.41 meter in his fourth attempt. With this he became the 8th Indian shot putter to win a gold medal in the history of Asian championships.

    With a throw of 19.56 meterChang Ming-Huang of Chinese Taipei won the silver, while Tian Zizhong with a throw of 1925meter of the home country bagged the bronze.

    Phase 1A of Jaipur Metro Rail Services was inaugrated by - Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje

    Among the important National Current Affairs, On 3rd June 2015, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated phase 1A of metro rail pink city. Jaipur has became the sixth city under the list to have metro service in the country; other five cities are Bangalore, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Delhi.

    In the first phase, the metro will cover a distance of 9.6 kilometer stretch covering nine stations from residential area Mansarovar to business hub in Chandpole.

    Three unique features have been added by Jaipur Metro which are as follows :

    • With the new technology of Wheel Mounted Disk Braking System, passenger will enjoy jerk free journey.
    • Each Coach is provided with the LCD which will continuously display information for the passengers.
    • Metro also carries Facilities for special challenged people and senior citizens.

    Developed in a time period of four-and-a-half years, the Jaipur metro work is reported as one of the fastest-built metros in the country.

    One most important fact of Jaipur metro service is that six out of 24 Metro train operators, that is, 25 percent of metro drivers, are women.

    Who is appointed as PM’s Special Envoy on Countering Terrorism and Extremism - Syed Asif Ibrahim

    Among the important appointments, On 3rd June 2015, the former Director of Intelligence Bureau, Syed Asif Ibrahim was appointed as the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on Countering Terrorism and Extremism.

    He will be collaborating with governments in Pakistan, Afghanistan,West Asia and South East Asia, among others, in setting up mechanism for the exchange of intelligence and information on terror groups.

    He will work out of the National Security Council (NSC) Secretariat in New Delhi and report to National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval.

    Syed Asif Ibrahim was retired in December 2014, he is a 1977 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.

    On 3rd June 2015, Jharkhand Special Courts Ordinance, 2015 was approved by Jharkhand Cabinet. Cabinet meet chaired by Chief Minister Raghubar Das, the decision was made.

    For speedy trail of corruption cases these Special Courts will be established. Further these courts will enable prosecution of individuals responsible for hoarding black money and confiscate the illegal acquired property of the guilty.

    Asian Athletics Association President’s award has been conferred to - Suresh Kalmadi

    Among the important National Current Affairs, On 2nd June 2015, Asian Athletics Association (AAA) President’s award was conferred to Suresh Kalmadi for his contribution towards the development of athletics in Asian continent.

    The award was received by the President of Athletics Federation of India, Adille Sumariwala on behalf of Kalmadi at the function held in Wuhan, China.

    He is attributed with the introduction of top events like Asian All Star Meet, Asian Grand Prix series and Asian Indoor Championships and others under his presidentship of AAA for 13 years. In the presidential election of the AAA held in 2013 at Pune he was defeated by Dahlan Al-Hamad of Qatar.
