    On 4th February 2015, Justice Madan Mohan Das was appointed as The Chairman of the Commission of Inquiry investigating chit fund scam. He is a retired judge of Orissa High Court. Earlier, the post was headed by Justice Radha Krushna Patra who passed away recently and the post was lying vacant since 28 January 2015.

    On 4th February 2015, Union Government has announced a development package for Andhra Pradesh of 850 crore rupees. The package was provided for the development of backward areas and Rayalaseema and North Coastal region of the State. The funds for Andhra Pradesh include Rs 500 crore as 'ad hoc support' to bridge the resource gap for the financial year 2014-15 as well as Rs 350 crore as special development package for the backward areas in Rayalaseema and north coastal districts.

    On 4th February 2015, LC Goyal had been appointed as the Union Home Secretary by the Union Government. He is a 1979-batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre. Earlier he had served in the Home Ministry as Joint Secretary (Internal Security). He has replaced Anil Goswami who had resigned o n4th February 2015. LC Goyal was appointed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 2 years term.

    On 3rd February 2015, Vijay Kumar won the Gold in 25 metre centre fire pistol event in 35th National Games held in Kerala. He is an army personnel and a silver medalist in the rapid pistol event at London Olympics in 2012. Samresh Jung from Himachal pradesh won the Silver whereas Pemba Tamang won the Bronze.
