    Who has been appointed as CEO of CSS Corp. - Manish Tandon

    Among Important National Current Affairs, on 6th August 2016 Manish Tandon has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the CSS Corp, a global Technology Support company.

     Here, he will be inducted as a whole time Director of the board and as CEO. He will take the responsibility of TG Ramesh, who is the current CEO and who will now moves onto the role of a strategic advisor role as a non-executive director on the board.

    Which state government launches Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana – Odisha

    On 7th August, 2016 the Odisha government launched a unique and special assistance scheme for elderly weavers, ‘Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana’, to mark the National Handlooms Day.

    What is Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana?

    • Under this scheme of Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana, all weavers above the age of 60 years would get a monthly pension of total 500 rupees, and those above 80 years would get 700 rupees.

    • The scheme is also aimed at improving the financial condition of over 8000 weavers, who have been working in this field for the last 20 years.

    Lodha Committee recommendations on BCCI reforms are unconstitutional and illegal - Justice Katju

    On 7th August 2016, Justice (Retired) Markandey Katju panel has been appointed by BCCI to advice on SC verdict on implementation of Justice Lodha committee recommendations submitted its interim report to it.

    Whereas, the panel in its recommendations termed Supreme Court verdict on BCCI reforms as recommended by Lodha Committee as unconstitutional and illegal.

    PM Narendra Modi launches which scheme in Telangana - Mission Bhagiratha

    Among Important National Current Affairs, on 7th August 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched Mission Bhagiratha at Komatibanda Village, Gajwel in Medak District of Telangana. 

    This scheme was launched by the State Government only with an aim to provide safe drinking water to all.

    Here, The Prime Minister also unveiled plaques to lay Foundation Stones for important development projects.

    Which player becomes first Indian to qualify for Vault Finals - Gymnast Dipa Karmakar

    Among Important Sports Current Affairs, on 7th August 2016, Dipa Karmakar, who is the Indian Gymnast, created history by becoming the first Indian gymnast to enter the Olympic final at the Rio Olympic Centre.

    This 22-year-old girl qualified for the final round in the Individual vault final of artistic gymnastics after finishing eighth on the standings.

    She scored here14.850 by performing her much-vaunted ‘Produnova’ vault cleanly on the vault, 11.666 on the uneven bars, 12.866 in balance beam and 12.033 in floor exercises.

    Union Government launches which project to assess 500 cities - Swachh Survekshan-2017

    Among Important National Current Affairs, on 6th August 2016 Union Minister of Urban Development M.Venkaiah Naidu launched Swachh Suvekshan-2017 project to assess and rank 500 cities based on levels of sanitation and efforts made by respective urban local bodies.

    The main of this project is to capture progress towards achieving Open Defecation Free status.
