Prof CNR Rao and Sachin Tendulkar conferred with Bharat Ratna

Prof CNR Rao (79) and Sachin Tendulkar (40) conferred with Bharat Ratna by President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee on 4th February 2014.

Bharat Ratna is highest civilian honour in India. 

Important to Note :

• Sachin Tendulkar is the first sportsperson to be conferred with the honour of Bharat Ratna.
• Sachin Tendulkar is the youngest person alive to be conferred with the honour of Bharat Ratna.
• Prof CNR Rao (Chintamani Nagesa Ramachandra Rao) is the third scientist to get Bharat Ratna (After CV Raman and APJ Abdul Kalam).
