Which supercomputer was named as fastest supercomputer of world - Sunway TaihuLight of China

Among Important Tech Updates, Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer of China was declared as world's fastest supercomputer, it can compute 93 million-billion calculations per second. Important to mention here that this is first time any Chinese supercomputer has won this award without using any U.S. processors or technology.

Second place in the list has been also secured by another supercomputer of China named Tianhe-2. Supercomputer of US Department of Energy (DOE) named Titan has been placed at third rank.

Four underwater SONAR systems developed by DRDO were inducted by - Indian Navy

On 18th November 2016, Indian Navy inducted four types of SONAR systems which are indigenously developed by DRDO.

These systems will help and boost underwater surveillance capabilities of Indian Navy.

Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar handed over these four sensors to Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba.

Names of these four sonar systems are :

• ABHAY,
• HUMSA-UG,
• NACS and 
• AIDSS.

Where was World Internet Conference 2016 held - China

Among Important International Affairs, On 18th November 2016, World Internet Conference was concluded in Wuzhen, China. Theme of World Internet Conference 2016 was Innovation-driven Internet Development for the Benefit of All – Building a Community of Common Future in Cyberspace. This is an annual event which was first held in 2014 and government agencies in China organize this.
