    Name of former heavyweight boxing champion died - Muhammad Ali

    Among Important National Current Affairs, on 3 June 2016, Former heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali died at the age of 74 after a 32-year battle with Parkinson's disease in the Phoenix, Arizona.

    Know About Muhammad Ali –

    Who is appointed as DG of National Anti-Doping Agency - Navin Agarwal

    Among Important Sports Current Affairs, on 3 June 2016, Senior IPS officer Navin Agarwal was appointed as Director General (DG)/ Chief Executive Officer (CEP) of National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).

    His appointment as the Chief of NADA was approved by The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) which is chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

    Navin Agarwal is now appointed to this post for five years term.

    He was a 1986 batch IPS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre.

    Know About National Anti-Doping Agency – 

    • NADA, which is known as National Anti-Doping Agency is the national organization who is responsible for promoting, coordinating, and monitoring the doping control program in sports in all its forms in India. 

    • NADA also deals with adopting and implementing anti-doping rules and policies which conform with the World Anti-Doping Code, cooperates with other anti-doping organizations and promotes anti-doping research and education.

    Sciencetists of which organisation found 39 unreported sources of SO2 pollution – NASA

    After using a new satellite-based method, scientists at NASA claims that 39 unreported and major human-made sources of toxic sulphur dioxide (SO2) emissions cause pollution which can cause many diseases. 

    From 2005 to 2014, this unreported emission sources were found in the analysis of satellite data. These sources include clusters of coal-burning power plants, oil and gas operations and smelters which are found in West Asia, Mexico and parts of Russia too. 

    As we all know, SO2 is a known health hazard and cause of acid rain. 

    Presently, this SO2 monitoring activities include the use of emission inventories that are derived from ground-based measurements and factors, such as fuel usage.

    Which organisation launched DND Services Mobile Application to register complaints against pesky calls, SMSes – TRAI

    Few days back only the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India which is also known as TRAI launched DND Services Mobile Application for their telecom subscribers to register their complaints against pesky calls and SMSes too.

    This new mobile application will also help people in easily registering complaints and help the authority in monitoring such activities also.

    As, the DND services mobile application is an easy alternative for filing pesky calls and SMS complaints. Before, subscribers had only option of filing complaint by forwarding SMS to 1909 which they used to receive from telemarketers and mention mobile number from which they have received it along with date of receiving.

    Which state Assembly passes Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2006 - Assam Assembly

    Among Important National Current Affairs, Assam Assembly has finally passed Assam Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2016 to facilitate ease of doing business in the state. 

    This bill is aims to attract fresh investment in the state through an easy computerised clearance system.
