    Vijayawada region will be new capital of Andhra Pradesh

    On 4th September 2014, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the new capital of Andhra Pradesh would be located around Vijayawada region. Vijayawada region is located at the centre of AP.

    As we are aware that Andhra Pradesh will share capital Hyderabad with Telangana for 10 years then after it will have a different Capital.

    7 percent of Dearness Allowance hike approved by Government

    4th September 2014 came with a good news for Central Government employees, as Union Government approved 7 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners.

    This hike will be effective from 1st July 2014. As 100 percent of Basic Pay was DA previously, now it has become 107 percent.

    In has been estimated that from July 2014 till February 2015 this hike will cost around 12818 crore rupees to public exchequer. 

    Ritu Rani will be the captain of Women's Hockey team in upcoming Asian Games 2014

    On 3rd September 2014, Midfielder Ritu Rani was selected to lead women squad of hockey in upcoming Asian Games. Upcoming Asian Games will be held in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 - October 4, 2014.

    A panel comprising B P Govinda, Harbinder Singh, Surinder Kaur and chief coach Neil Hawgood selected her name.

    IGL got V Nagarajan as a new Director

    On 4th September 2014 V Nagarajan took over as new Director (Commercial) of IGL (Indraprastha Gas Ltd.). Earlier, he was serving as Senior Vice President in-charge of Bina dispatch terminal at Bharat Oman Refineries Limited located in Bina.

    V Nagarajan is a post graduate in Chemistry and has more than 32 years of experience in operations, retail, industrial and commercial sales and businesses.

    Largest offshore patrol vessel INS Sumitra commissioned into Indian Navy

    On 4th September 2014, India's largest naval offshore patrol vessel (NOPV) INS Sumitra was commissioned into Indian Navy to serve Eastern Naval Command fleet for maritime surveillance and coastal security. 

    Admiral R K Dhowan commissioned it at Chennai Port Trust. 

    Goa Shipyard Limited handed over this fourth in the series of indigenous NOPV. Before it other three were NOPV- INS Saryu, INS Sunayna and INS Sumedha.
